We recently sat down with our Sales Manager, Peter Fraser, who joined Wellhead Electrical Supplies (WES) in February 2021. He’s had a busy few months, but we managed to get some time to talk with him about his career and how he is getting on with his role at WES.
What was your background and experience before joining Wellhead Electrical Supplies?
Peter: I’ve worked in sales since the late ’90s. I was fortunate to be employed by a large wholesaler in Aberdeen, so I got a good grounding at the start of my career. Having this start gave me the confidence to move around the industry with different companies, gaining experience in multiple disciplines. Now I’m back within the wholesale market and looking to use my experience from other sectors.
How would you describe your role at WES?
Peter: Energising! The ever-changing market in a crowded industry keeps me moving and looking at different ways to approach and deliver solutions to our customers.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Peter: Lots of coffee! At the moment, I spend most of my time working with clients, reigniting and developing relationships, and building on the great work that the WES team had done over the years.
You have been in the role for nearly four months. What are you enjoying the most so far?
Peter: It has been great to get back to products that I haven’t necessarily dealt with in my career thus far. Reigniting relationships with manufacturers and gaining insight into some of the new products introduced into the market has been exciting, and there’s a lot to look forward to.
Wellhead Electrical Supplies (WES) has been in business for over 30 years. Why do you think having experience in the sector is vital for clients and suppliers looking to work with you?
Peter: The Oil and Gas industry has evolved over the last 30 years, for sure. Many new names and faces have appeared and disappeared over that time, but the core requirements haven’t changed. It’s just been streamlined in some instances and enhanced in others. The experience that WES brings to the market offers stability and a superior customer experience. In this market, it is so essential to maintain expertise as the industry continues to change shape.
Reliable, flexible, specialist and responsive. What do these values say about WES?
Peter: These are the values that continue to deliver a distinctive approach in this market. Focusing on listening to the client instead of rushing to push out the standard package will continue to benefit both sides.
What can the market expect from WES in the next 12 months?
Peter: As the market continues to evolve, so will WES. We are looking for new partnerships and enhanced service offerings. Renewables are a target and widen our industry focus to continue building on the positive reputation that WES has already got in the market.
Thanks, Peter!
